Croydon Athletic

The club exists because the old Croydon Athletic did not survive: that team pulled out of the Isthmian League during the 2011–12 season and folded once its owner, Mazhar Majeed, was jailed for money laundering. Supporters rebuilt from there in 2012, ground-sharing with Croydon FC at the Croydon Sports Arena until the move to Mayfield Stadium, also known as the Keith Tuckey Stadium, on 15 November 2014. The record gate is 1,262, set for a play-off final against AFC Whyteleafe.

Their first trophy came almost immediately: the Combined Counties League Division One Cup in 2012–13, sealed with a 5–0 win over Staines Lammas. The London Senior Trophy followed in 2014–15, won 4–3 after extra time against Interwood. In 2023, ownership passed to a consortium built around Stormzy and Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha, both raised in south London, and the following season the Rams beat Knaphill 2–1 in the Premier Division South play-off final to win promotion into the Isthmian League South East Division.

It is still a phoenix club, playing in maroon, carrying forward the name that a failed ownership once nearly buried.
