Dunajská Lužná

Štadión Jozefa Straku holds barely 1,500 people. The ground itself replaced an older pitch known as 'Jama', prone to flooding, when construction began there in 1969.

The club's own history runs longer than the venue. It started life in 1921 as FC Schildern, took the name Jánošík Schildern in 1946, went through Jánošíková-Košariská in the following decade, then became TJ Úsvit Družstevník Dunajská Lužná in 1961 after merging with the local agricultural cooperative. The current name, OFK Dunajská Lužná, dates only from 2006. Behind those changes sits a piece of local administration: on 1 January 1974 the villages of Jánošíková, Nové Košariská and Nová Lipnica, including the old Schildern area, were merged into a single municipality, Dunajská Lužná, and the club's identity followed the map.

Its one season outside the amateur ranks came in 2014/15, when promotion to the Slovak Second Division was earned under coaches Vojtech Varadin and Peter Fieber; relegation followed after a single year back down. Three seasons earlier, in 2010/11, the club had taken both the Bratislava Football Association Cup and the BFZ Winter Tournament Cup. The women's side had its own brief spell in the top flight, promoted to the 1. Liga in 2011/12 and out again after one season. Since 2014 the club has also served as a National Training Centre for youth and women's football.

What the club plays for locally has not moved far from where it began: a village side built around a ground that was itself built to get away from a pitch that flooded.
