The name comes off a merger: in 1906 Farnham Bungs, the brewery works team, joined forces with Farnham Star to form a single side for the town. That double parentage has echoed since — twice the club has built itself up only to hand back what it earned. After winning the double in 1991–92, promotion to the Isthmian League was turned down because the Memorial Ground could not be brought up to standard, and the same story repeated in 2006–07, when a second Combined Counties title met the same ground-grading wall. The venue has since caught up: a 700-seat stand approved in 2025 lifted capacity from 1,500 to 2,200, closing the gap that had twice cost them a step up.

What the ground could not do for decades, results have done fast under Paul Johnson. Farnham took the Combined Counties Premier Division South in 2023–24, the Isthmian South Central the following season, and went up again through the play-offs to reach the National League South in 2025–26 — three promotions in three years, a run with no precedent in the club's history. The 2023–24 title was settled by Kai Tanner, an academy product who broke into the first team in 2020–21, left for Sutton United a year later, and returned in 2023 to score the goal that won it.

Local needle comes from Badshot Lea, across the Coxbridge Derby.

The current squad carries a heavier pedigree than a club at this level usually attracts: Sam Hutchinson, who arrived in July 2026 from AFC Wimbledon after a career that ran through Chelsea and Sheffield Wednesday, is the name supporters point to first — a reminder of how far the promotion run has changed who wants to play at the Memorial Ground.
