Fortuna 05

The 2003/04 season ended with the Wiener Stadtliga title and, with it, a step up to the Regionalliga Ost — the third tier, and the highest the Sievering side has ever climbed. The coach that year was Damir Canadi. Two seasons at that level were all it lasted; since then the descent has been long.

Twenty years before the Stadtliga title there had been another championship that led nowhere.

The ground on Krottenbachstraße is known locally as the Krottenbacheralm.

Ismael Tajouri-Shradi spent a single season, 2003/04, with the juniors before FK Austria Wien took him. He went on to the Austrian Bundesliga with Austria and with SCR Altach, where he won promotion, then to MLS with New York City FC, Los Angeles FC and Minnesota United, and into the Libya national side.

The name Fortuna 05 only arrived in 1947.
