Training days for Les Bleuettes run through the Centre Technique National Fernand Sastre at Clairefontaine-en-Yvelines, though the age-group side carries no ground or city of its own and gathers only for the windows internationals allow. The France U20 Women's team sits under the French Football Federation as a selection rather than a club, assembled from players drawn out of their domestic sides for a tournament calendar rather than a league season.

The current age bracket dates to 2006, when FIFA reset its youth women's competition to the under-20 level. Blue shirts and white shorts at home, the reverse away, mark out a team whose real business is played every two years at continental and world level.

That business has gone well more often than not. Five European under-19 titles came in 2003, 2010, 2013, 2016 and 2019. The world stage has been kinder in parts than in whole: a final lost in 2016, third place in 2014, fourth-place finishes either side of that in 2008 and 2018. Wendie Renard and Eugénie Le Sommer both passed through the side on their way to full France careers, and Grace Geyoro's name sits on the same list of graduates who moved from these squads into the senior team.

A world title has not followed the European ones. Second place in 2016 remains the closest Les Bleuettes have come, and that gap between continental dominance and a global crown is the one honour still missing from the record.
