Azor is a moshav in the Sharon region, and in 1954 the local Hapoel movement gave it a football club of its own.

What followed was mostly a story of climbing and slipping back down. Promotion to Liga Bet came in 1959, relegation followed by 1966, and it took until 1981-82 for Hapoel Azor to reach Liga Alef again. The club took the Liga Alef title that same season, and finished third in it by 1986-87. A slide back down cost the club 24 years outside the third tier before a play-off win over Maccabi Ironi Netivot in 2011-12 sent it back up, capped by a second Liga Alef title in that same campaign.

The current dressing room owes something to continuity rather than turnover: Tomer Ben Haim has passed 130 appearances since 2021, and carries a family name familiar to Israeli football through his cousin Tal Ben Haim.

Azor Stadium holds 1,500, which suits a club that has never chased crowds it could not draw, and only the routine fixtures against sides like Hapoel Marmorek and Maccabi Sha'arayim that fill out a lower-league calendar. It remains, as it was in 1954, a moshav's own team.
