Peacehaven & Telscombe

Nobody at The Sports Park needed telling what June 2016 meant: the club had come close enough to folding that a group of its own supporters bought it outright to keep it going. That decision is the reason there is still a first team playing on Piddinghoe Avenue at all, and it has fed through into results — a run that included lifting the Southern Combination Football League Premier Division play-offs in 2025–26.

The club itself dates from 1923, formed when Peacehaven Rangers and Telscombe Tye merged, though the fixture list shows matches a year before that.

Its sharpest period came either side of the millennium's turn: eight Sussex County League Division One titles were won between 1978–79 and 2012–13, and the best of those years, 2013–14, produced a rare double — the Isthmian League Division One South title alongside the Sussex Senior Challenge Cup. In the FA Vase, quarter-final appearances have come twice, in 1995–96 and again in 2022–23, either side of a run to the FA Cup's Fourth Qualifying Round in 1990–91.

Across the county line, Eastbourne Town supply the fixture that matters most. When the two sides meet, it is known simply as the Eastbourne Derby, and little else on the calendar carries the same weight for whoever is out on Piddinghoe Avenue that afternoon.
