Potters Bar Town go about their business several tiers below the Football League, in the Spartan South Midlands League.

The name on the teamsheet in 1960 was Mount Grace Old Scholars, after the school whose PE master, Ken Barrett, started the team. "Old Scholars" was dropped in 1984, and the club became Potters Bar Town in 1991, though the nickname stuck. The club won two Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division titles, in 1996–97 and 2004–05, each followed by the League Cup.

Few names travel further from Potters Bar than Kazaiah Sterling's. His loan spell there came while he was on Tottenham Hotspur's books, one of several young players who used Parkfield as a stepping stone rather than a destination.
