«The Heys»
Heys Old Boys were formed in 1938 by former pupils of a school on Heys Road.
The high point came in 1970–71, when Prestwich Heys won the Lancashire Combination and, in the same season, took all four trophies the league had to offer. In 2017–18 the club beat Cammell Laird 2–1 to lift the LWC Drinks Cup.
Peter Gilmore managed the side to that 1970–71 clean sweep, a season still spoken of at the club. Off the pitch, Martin Johnston served 38 years as secretary and chairman. Ryan Hutchinson, who came through Manchester United's youth ranks and had a spell at Stoke City, has been in charge since 2023.
Games against Ramsbottom United carry the weight of a local derby, the two clubs sitting close together within the Borough of Bury, while Wythenshawe Town remain an old rival from Manchester League days.
