UNA Strassen

Sixth place in 2023/24 would normally end a summer; instead, when other clubs were refused UEFA licences, Strassen took the vacant European place — the first in their history.

What followed was instructive. KuPS won the first qualifying round tie 5-0 in 2024/25. Strassen reached the second qualifying round before Dundee United beat them 2-0. In 2026/27 they finally won a European tie, putting three past La Fiorita without reply, then met Partizan and lost by five.

The club plays as an amateur side, which is the ordinary condition of Luxembourg football rather than a footnote about this one. Its full name, Football Club Union Athlétique Strassen, dates from a registration with the federation on 13 February 1922.

For most of the club's life the home ground was the Complexe Sportif Jean Wirtz, a 2,000-capacity municipal set-up. That changed on 27 October 2025, when the Stade An de Millewisen opened.

The nearest they have come to a trophy was the 2023/24 Luxembourg Cup, where FC Swift Hesperange won the semi-final 2-0.
