Werder Bremen III

Werder Bremen III has produced no rivals of its own but it produced Florian Kohfeldt, who wore the shirt for eight years, from 2001 to 2009, and returned to the club years later as head coach of the first team.

The side took its present name and its own registration on 6 November 2014. Before that it played as Werder Bremen Amateure, later as Werder Bremen II, in the Bremen-Liga, where it spent the turn of the last decade under coach Andreas Ernst, in charge since at least 2007.

In 2023/24 the side finished 13th of 16, with a defence that conceded 91 goals. The following season brought a rise to 12th, and by 2025/26 it had climbed into the top half, in eighth place on 39 points.

Its matches are played at Weserstadion Platz 13, a pitch set on the same grounds as Werder's main stadium in Bremen, holding 500 spectators. The team plays in the club's green and white and takes the field under the same crest as the first team — the third side has never had a badge of its own.
