The pitch is a hybrid surface, which means the grass is reinforced with synthetic fibres.
It was built for the 2000s, not the 1990s. The first significant renovation happened in 2022, right before the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup. They also added gender-neutral changerooms, which is a practical move for a stadium that hosts both football and rugby.
The capacity is around 30,000, which puts it in the middle range for Melbourne. It is not a giant arena like the one near the Yarra, but it is not a small neighbourhood ground either. It is plain. It does not try to be anything else.
Melbourne Victory and Melbourne City both play there now, and they moved from the bigger stadium.
