AEK drew a peak 31,100 for that opening match against Ionikos, then matched or came close to it again for visits from PAOK, Panathinaikos and Olympiacos across the following season.
By March 2023 it was already hosting the Greek national team, drawing 0-0 against Lithuania, and just over a year later, on 29 May 2024, it staged the UEFA Europa Conference League final, where Olympiacos beat Fiorentina 1-0 after extra time. For European nights the venue switches to the name AEK Arena.
Not every fixture has passed quietly: clashes between AEK and Ajax supporters broke out outside the ground on 5 October 2023 ahead of a Europa League tie. Commercially, the stadium has changed its sponsored name more than once, running as OPAP Arena from opening until early 2026, when it became Allwyn Arena.
