Stadium
Bramall Lane
Sheffield, United Kingdom
Bramall Lane predates the football club that plays there by more than three decades. The first football match on the pitch — Sheffield FC against Hallam FC — did not take place until December 1862. Sheffield United arrived only in 1889.
The attendance record belongs to a different era entirely. On 15 February 1936, 68,287 people packed in for an FA Cup tie against Leeds United, after the Taylor Report forced the shift to all-seating and capacity settled down near 30,000 through the mid-1990s.
The pitch itself changed later than the stands did.
The Kop Corner was added in 2001 and the Westfield Health Stand in 2006.
