German American Bank Field at Charles H. Braun Stadium has traded its natural grass for AstroTurf, a change that occurred during the major renovations completed in 2020.

The capacity is limited to 1,200 spectators, which ensures that the view from any seat is unobstructed.

The facility opened in 1999, replacing the university’s long-time home at Bosse Field. It was originally named Charles H. Braun Stadium to honour a local businessman who had died the previous year. The sponsorship deal with German American Bank led to the current naming convention, but the playing surface remains distinct from the broader stadium name. The all-time attendance record is not a matter of public record, but the inaugural game of the 2020 renovations drew over 1,000 fans for a narrow victory against Indiana University. The venue is colloquially known as "The Braun," a name that has persisted through the various official title changes.
