Bugonga Fisheries Grounds Arena

The ground sits on the quiet edge of Entebbe, tucked inside the Bugonga Fisheries Training Institute. It is not a place defined by grand architecture or a roaring capacity; the stands hold 3,000 spectators. The surface is natural grass, though its condition has fluctuated. Reports from the 2026/27 season licensing cycle noted bare patches that required major maintenance, enough to see the stadium rejected alongside five others for failing to meet standards.

The venue’s identity is tied to the teams that have called it home. It served as the base for Entebbe UPPC FC, which played here under the name Gaddafi FC before the switch. The exact date the stadium was first opened remains undocumented in available records. The building itself, part of the wider institute, has a deeper history; the foundation stone was laid in 1966, and the institute opened in 1968.

Renovations completed in 2015 modernised the dressing rooms and the turf, allowing the club to move out of Kampala and play in Entebbe Municipality. Matches were hosted here as early as 2014, such as the Buganda Premier Cup, but it was the 2015 works that solidified its role in the top flight. Other sides, including Nebbi Central and Buhimba United, have also used the pitch for regional league or cup ties, but the ground is most strongly linked to the local Entebbe clubs. There is no official attendance record to speak of, and no former names beyond the period when the tenant club carried the Gaddafi title. It is a functional space, simple and unpretentious, where the heat takes the sting out of summer afternoons.
