Aarhus said goodbye to this ground on 8 December 2024, when the final match was played before the site was cleared for Skovens Arena, its replacement.

The stadium itself opened on 5 June 1920, and AGF Aarhus has played there ever since. It collected four names as sponsors came and went — Aarhus Stadion, then Atletion, then NRGi Park, and finally Ceres Park from 2015.

The shape most fans will remember came from the 1993–2001 rebuild, around 298 million Danish kroner spent on a two-tier stand under a cantilever roof. The pitch changed more recently still: in 2020 the grass gave way to a Mixto System hybrid surface from Limonta Sport, natural turf reinforced with synthetic fibres.

It staged the final of the UEFA European Under-21 Championship between Spain and Sweden in 2011. Euro 2008 qualifiers and UEFA Nations League fixtures passed through too, and away from football the stands filled for concerts by Rammstein, AC/DC and Phil Collins.
