Estadio Inca Garcilaso de la Vega opened in 1958 with room for around 22,000.
A further reconstruction followed in 2013 and 2014, meant to push the total past 45,000 and lay artificial turf. The budget did not stretch that far: the artificial surface was dropped in favour of natural grass, and the stand work that finished afterwards left the stadium at just over 45,000 seats, the number still in use today.
