Estádio Municipal 25 de Abril

The stadium is situated in the old Campo das Leiras site. The stands rise directly from the rock, with one end backed by a sheer cliff face that towers over the pitch. The roof covers the main seating areas, leaving the open ends exposed to the weather. A large video screen hangs from the quarry wall behind one of the goals, suspended between the stone and the concrete structure of the stand.

The ground was completed in April 1934, having been built on reclaimed land in the old Campo das Leiras site. It remained in that form for forty years before a major reconstruction began in the early 2000s. The current structure, which incorporates the quarry walls into the design, was inaugurated in 2002. It was renamed Estádio Municipal 25 de Abril in 1974, marking the anniversary of the Carnation Revolution, though it is still commonly referred to by its original location name by locals.

The capacity is 5,230**, split between the covered main stand and the open terrace on the opposite side. The pitch is natural grass, cut short and striped, with the shadows of the rocky overhangs falling across it in the afternoon light. The concrete pillars supporting the upper tiers are visible through the open sections of the stands, showing the skeletal framework of the 2002 rebuild. There is no separate stand behind the goals; the area is bordered by the quarry wall and advertising hoardings. The only entrance visible from the exterior is via a ramp that curves around the base of the hill, leading to the concourse level.
