Estadio Municipal Alfonso San Casto
Santa Marta de Tormes, Spain
Formerly: Municipal de Los Hoyos
For a town the size of Santa Marta de Tormes, the Estadio Municipal Alfonso San Casto is a presence, replacing the Valdelagua field when highway construction swallowed the old ground. The club, Unión Deportiva Santa Marta, has stayed put ever since. The stadium was renamed in 2000, after the death of Alfonso San Casto, the man who founded the club.
It is a small place. The capacity is 1,500. What defines it is the surface. Artificial turf was laid down in 2011.
The real story is in the local derbies. In December 2025, a fight broke out between UD Santa Marta and CD Helmántico. The incident was not a headline in Madrid, but it was significant here. The stadium is not a temple of football.
