Estádio Municipal de Portimão

The ground on Rua do Campo de Futebol exists because someone gave it away. A supporter of Portimonense S.C. The name changed with the deed: the Estádio do Portimonense Sporting Clube became the Estádio Municipal de Portimão .

The one season the club was not there was the season before that purchase. A legal dispute over who owned the ground pushed Portimonense out for 2006–07, and the side spent the year at the Estádio Algarve in Faro.

What stands now is the result of a rebuild that did not hold. Work finished in the summer of 2010, costing €800,000, added a west stand along with drainage and security work, and the ground was rated for 9,544. Then cracks were found in the structure, and the rules on segregating away supporters had moved on. Before a ball was kicked in 2010–11 the figure was cut to 4,961. Further work in 2017 did not shift it.

The ground still draws visitors. Portugal and England drew 1–1 there in the UEFA Women's Nations League in February 2025, and English clubs, Sheffield Wednesday among them, have used it for pre-season. In July 2012 the Brazilian singer Ivete Sangalo played a concert on the site.
