Estadio Nuevo Francisco Urbano
Morón, Argentina
Formerly: Estadio Francisco Urbano
Deportivo Morón spent decades playing at the old Estadio Francisco Urbano before the club tore it down and built again on the same ground, a decision that says something about how much the site itself matters to the neighbourhood rather than just the fixtures held there. Estadio Nuevo Francisco Urbano opened its doors with a friendly against Argentina's under-20 side, a fitting way to christen a ground meant to carry the club into a different era.
The project fell to Vila Sebastián Studio, working with the Grupo Bautec construction group, and the money came from a mix of investors organised as Grupo Inversor Morón, the municipal government and the club itself — a three-way arrangement that says something about how the rebuild got financed in a division where clubs rarely command that kind of backing on their own.
Locals still refer to the predecessor as the Viejo Urbano, and the naming carries forward deliberately: the new stadium keeps Francisco Urbano's name rather than starting fresh, a nod to whatever the old ground meant before the bulldozers arrived. The pitch is natural grass, laid out on Av. Hipólito Yrigoyen in Morón, Buenos Aires province, where Deportivo Morón continues to play its home fixtures.
