The Estadio Olímpico Hermanos Ghersi Páez is located in Maracay , the capital of the state, and this ground is the only one of note in the municipality. It is a national historical monument.

The pitch itself is natural grass. A running track separates the field from the terraces, a feature that dates back to the stadium’s conversion into an Olympic venue in 1979. Before that, it was simply the Estadio Olímpico de Maracay, though no one agrees on when the football side first opened its doors. Some say 1964, others 1969. It does not matter much now. What matters is that the name was changed in 1981 to honour five brothers from the local football scene who played in the 1960s and 70s.

The place feels smaller than its 14,000 capacity. The stands have not grown since. It is the home of Aragua Fútbol Club, a side that moved here from Caracas when it was known as Deportivo Galicia.
