Estadio Parque Federico Omar Saroldi

The ground at Parque Federico Omar Saroldi sits in the El Prado neighbourhood of Montevideo. The press box on the Capurro side sits above the rest.

The stadium opened in 1926 as Olimpia Park, but the name changed in 1932 to honour Federico Omar Saroldi, the first goalkeeper of Club Atlético River Plate (Montevideo), who died from injuries sustained in a match against Central Español. The renaming followed a merger involving Olimpia and Capurro, which formed River Plate, who acquired the venue.

The playing surface is natural grass. The main stand includes a press box with 200 seats, while the Prado and Aduana stands have concrete benches. A significant reform in 1996 converted the Aduana stand from a standing terrace to concrete benches, uniting it with the visitor stand. In August 2024, the stadium inaugurated a new LED lighting system with 36 floodlights across four towers, providing 600 lux of illumination to host night matches.

The ground has hosted matches for Club Atlético River Plate, Club Atlético Progreso (in the 1990 Copa Libertadores), and Club Atlético Boston River. It also hosted Uruguayan national rugby team (Los Teros) qualification matches for the 2003 Rugby World Cup and international club matches in the Serie de la Plata, including a 4-1 defeat of River Plate by Vélez Sarsfield in 2023. The specific capacity is not fixed; it hovers somewhere between 5,165 and 6,000 depending on which section is counted.
