Estadio Tres de Febrero

Estadio Tres de Febrero belongs to Club Almagro, which built the ground itself and still fields its Primera Nacional and B Metropolitana sides here, in José Ingenieros, within the Tres de Febrero municipality. The place carries two names side by side: the official one taken from the district, and the colloquial Estadio Almagro, used by supporters without ever having replaced it on paper — there was no renaming, just a name that grew alongside another.

The stadium opened on 7 April 1956, and history recorded the occasion with an irony fans still bring up: Almagro lost its own opening match 3-2 to Dock Sud. Before it settled on its current name, the ground went briefly by Campo de Deportes de José Ingenieros, a working label from the years when the ground had no name of its own.

Almagro plays on natural grass, resown as recently as 2016 to keep the pitch in playable condition. The ground sits on Avenida Marcelo Torcuato de Alvear, in Buenos Aires province, and holds close to 19,000 — a capacity that has put it on the Copa Argentina's list of neutral venues, though no cup final, international fixture or major concert has been played there. It remains, above all, a home ground: built for one club, and still used mostly for that club's own league fixtures.
