Estadio Urko
Amorebieta-Etxano, Spain
Formerly: Campo de Fútbol Municipal Nuevo Urritxe
The ground in the Barrio de Urritxe in Amorebieta-Etxano does not look like much from the outside. This is the Campo Municipal de Urritxe, though the archives sometimes call it Estadio Urko, a confusion the club has never quite shaken off.
The original field at this site opened in 1925, but the current stadium is a post-2002 rebuild. The capacity sits at 3,000, with the main stand offering 504 covered seats and the remainder consisting of hard standing areas. The pitch itself is natural grass, measuring 102 by 64 meters.
More recently, the ground hosted a centenary celebration for the club, though reports of nearly 50,000 attendees for that match sit uncomfortably against the 3,000-seat limit.
SD Amorebieta rarely plays here when they reach the higher tiers of Spanish football. Promotions to the Segunda División in 2021 and 2023 forced the club to move to the Lezama training facilities in Bilbao, as the Liga de Fútbol Profesional requirements proved too steep for a ground with no heating and basic changing rooms.
