Fazanerija City Stadium
Murska Sobota, Slovenia
Formerly: Stadion Viteškega Kralja Aleksandra I. Zedinitelja
The Fazanerija City Stadium is located in a park. It is a working ground for a town that takes its football seriously.
The pitch itself tells the story of recent investment. It was moved 15 metres closer to the main stand in 2022 to fix a slope that had plagued the surface for years. The move cost 800,000 euros, paid for by the club and public funds, and it has given the playing area a flat, even surface.
The stadium was built in 1936, originally named after King Alexander I of Yugoslavia. The capacity is small, just over 4,500, but the space feels full when the local team plays.
