Georg-Schäfer-Sporthalle
Eltmann, Germany
Inside the hall the playing surface is a standard indoor sports floor. The lighting is bright and even, fitted into the ceiling grid, and the walls are lined with lockers and changing rooms.
The hall is primarily used for volleyball and judo, and it is the home venue for the CERATONIA Volleys Eltmann, who currently play in the 2. Bundesliga Süd. Before that they were known as the VC Eltmann. The hall was also the base for the HEITEC Volleys Eltmann, a team that played in the 1. Bundesliga during the 2019/20 season before filing for bankruptcy in December 2019.
The venue is owned by the Landkreis Haßberge district, and the hall is also used by Judo Eltmann and SG Eltmann for training and competitions. It was named after Dr. Johann Georg Schäfer, a local industrialist and benefactor.
The hall underwent a major renovation around 2018–2025, which included a new glass facade, new lighting, and repairs to locker rooms. The cost of the work was approximately 2 million euros.
