The ground sits in the Starosjedilci quarter of Istočno Sarajevo. The other end remains untouched, the concrete steps worn down by years of feet. The banners stretch between the poles, some in Cyrillic, others in Latin, all of them telling you who is watching. A keeper in orange stands near the post, waiting for the whistle.

Faces in the crowd are familiar, not strangers from away. They wear scarves that have seen better days, and they shout until their voices go hoarse. The players on the pitch are local, boys who grew up watching from these same stands. The game moves slowly, then suddenly, and the ball finds the net. The crowd rises, a wave of colour and sound, and the players run back to the centre circle.

There are no luxury boxes here, no glass facades reflecting the sky. Just concrete and grass, the smell of wet earth and sweat, and the knowledge that this place will be here long after the players have gone. The track is cracked in places, but the lines are painted white and true. The goalposts are steel, the net is white, and the ball is black and white.
