Jean Nijsten Sportpark
Genhout, Netherlands
Formerly: Sportpark Genhout
Jean Nijsten Sportpark sits in Genhout, a village in the municipality of Beek in the province of Limburg, Netherlands. The complex was originally inaugurated in 1970 as Sportpark Genhout for the local amateur football club GSV '28. At its opening, the complex consisted of one pitch and a wooden clubhouse.
The facility was renamed Jean Nijsten Sportpark in 2008 in honor of Jean Nijsten, the long-serving chairman of GSV '28. He had fallen ill and passed away in October of that same year. The playing surface is artificial turf, specifically a 3G synthetic pitch, which was laid out anew in 2014.
The official capacity of the venue is 1,500 spectators. The club GSV '28 uses the facility as its home ground. The club maintains an official website at https://www.gsv28.nl/.
