Okinawa Athletic Park Stadium

The Okinawa Athletic Park Stadium stands as a distinct piece of sporting architecture in Japan. Opened in March 1987 , the venue was constructed specifically to serve as the main stadium for the National Sports Festival of Japan (Kokutai), a role that dictated its initial scale. While the original capacity likely included standing areas in the thousands, the current configuration is strictly seated, with the official capacity recording at 12,270 following extensive renovations between 2012 and 2015. These works shifted the focus entirely to the main stand, which remains the defining architectural feature of the ground.

The primary tenants are FC Ryukyu , who moved to the venue in 2014 and compete in the J3 League, and Okinawa SV of the Japan Football League. The stadium sits in the Yogi district of Okinawa City, a location that forces the football club to travel for away fixtures, as it is distinct from the larger city of Naha. The ground is managed by Trustec Co., Ltd. under the supervision of the Okinawa Prefectural Government.

Notable for its utility beyond football, the stadium hosts the annual Aisa Night traditional Okinawan dance festival in its surrounding plaza. The venue was known as Tapic Kenso Hiyagon Stadium from 2018 to 2025. The natural grass surface is maintained without undersoil heating.
