Pärnu Spordihall
Pärnu, Estonia
The Pärnu Spordihall opened on 17 October 2009. The venue sits at Riia maantee 129 in the Pärnumaa county, its capacity fixed at 1,820 since construction. That figure comprises 420 permanent seats and 1,300 on movable stands.
What separates this hall from the cluster of indoor arenas in Tallinn is the incident of 1 January 2011. On that morning, the roof of the smaller ancillary hall collapsed. The facility was not fully repaired and reopened until August 2012. The main arena remained operational throughout that period, though its utility for concerts was expanded to hold 2,500 with temporary seating.
The ground was built by AS OmaEhitaja, a local contractor, and the floor installation was completed in the same year as the opening. The Estonian Sports Register lists the capacity, while the venue retains its original name; it has never been renamed. The structural failure of the auxiliary hall remains the only major deviation in its operational record.
