Penhurst Park stands as a relatively recent addition to the sporting landscape of Sydney. The facility sits on King Georges Road in Penshurst, a suburb that already possessed a green space under that name, but the site as it now exists is defined by a specific redevelopment project approved by the Hurstville City Council in 2015. The upgrade included a synthetic sports field, a grandstand, and a youth centre, completed alongside the Norm O'Neill Cricket Training Facility to the north, which was designed by BKA Architecture and finished in mid-2019. St George City FA, competing in the National Premier Leagues NSW, moved here in 2022. The capacity is modest, cited at 1,000 seats by some sources, though Europlan Online suggests a tighter limit of 765, including a covered stand with 265 seats. The surface is artificial turf. There are no legendary matches played here, nor attendance records that loom large over the area. It is a place where the game is played on a Tuesday night in the rain. The stadium does not have a sponsored name, remaining simply Penhurst Park, a name shared with the sporting hub that houses it.
