What went up is a training and development complex rather than a place built for crowds. There are pitches of natural grass, some of them heated, and artificial turf alongside.
The distinction matters for anyone arriving expecting to watch senior football. FC Red Bull Salzburg play their competitive fixtures next door at the Red Bull Arena , and the reserve side, FC Liefering , do the same; before that they were housed at the Untersberg Arena in Grödig. Neither club stages official home matches at the academy.
