Sala Sporturilor "Horia Demian"
Cluj-Napoca, Romania
The Sala Sporturilor "Horia Demian" was opened in 1970. The ground sits within the Splaiul Independenței sports complex.
The true character of the place is revealed in its use. It is not merely a basketball court or a handball hall. It has also been a stage for Dynamite Fighting Show IV, where the highest recorded attendance of 3,200 spectators witnessed a kickboxing bout between Cătălin Moroșanu and Daniel Sam.
The venue is operated by CS Universitatea Cluj-Napoca and serves as a home for the men's handball and basketball teams, alongside the women's volleyball side. The name itself belongs to Horia Demian, a local player who spent his career with Universitatea Cluj from 1960 until 1970. He died in 1989, long before the arena was renovated in 2010.
There is no official website for the venue, and the address is often listed without a number.
