Sporthalle Mittelschule

The image shows a flat, grassy area surrounded by advertising hoardings and covered by a blue sky, but the architecture suggests a different purpose entirely. The most distinct feature is the wall of banners running along the sideline, featuring sponsor names like FLYERALARM and a large red section marked FAN-KURVE. This is not a permanent structure; it is a temporary setup for a match, likely borrowed from the school's equipment store. The venue is the Sporthalle Mittelschule, a triple gym hall that doubles as a football pitch for local teams. While the surface is natural grass in the photograph, the building itself is a multi-purpose indoor hall, originally constructed for school activities and later expanded in 2023 to include new classrooms. The presence of the fan curve indicates that the space is treated with some respect for the game, even if the setting is utilitarian. The main tenant here is the volleyball department of TSV 1860 Mühldorf, whose men's side plays in the 2. Bundesliga. They are not the only users; FC Mühldorf also brings in teams for tournaments, such as the U12 International Hall Tournament. The exact date the hall was first built is not found in public records, but the facility remains a central hub for sport in Mühldorf am Inn. The contrast between the indoor school hall and the outdoor football pitch is stark, yet the two coexist in the same location.

The hoardings provide the only colour against the green pitch, marking the boundary for the visitors and the home side. It is a functional space, stripped of grandeur, where the focus remains on the result rather than the venue. When the match ends, the boards will be taken down and the field returned to general use.
