St Mary's

The club that plays here was founded at a church.

The stadium was Friends Provident St. Mary's Stadium until 2006, when Flybe, the next sponsor in line, declined to buy the naming rights.

In July 2022 the stadium staged group matches at the UEFA Women's Euro 2022 , with Northern Ireland, Norway, Austria and England among the sides who played there.

The pitch is Desso GrassMaster, natural grass stitched through with synthetic fibre. Outside the football calendar the ground has taken on concerts — Elton John, Bon Jovi, The Rolling Stones, Robbie Williams — and Take That have returned often enough to be regulars. The building has also hosted the Southampton 10K , open-air film screenings, and the British premiere of Casino Royale .
