Stade Robert Urbain: Stadium in Boussu

The ground took its first name from the pit next door: Stade Vedette , after the Vedette colliery. In 2008 it went, replaced by that of Robert Urbain (1930–2018), a mathematics and physics teacher who was mayor of Boussu from 1977 to 2006, served as Secretary of State and Minister of External Trade, and was made Minister of State in 1998. Urbain was president of R. SC Boussu-Bois in 1982, when the club merged with FC Élougeois to form Royal Francs Borains , the side that plays here now.

Boussu-Bois reached the semi-finals of the Belgian Cup in 1985–86 and lost 7–0 on aggregate to Cercle Brugge, the second leg played on this pitch. The cup has kept bringing the visitors back: roughly 6,000 in for the Round of 32 in 2019–20, when FC Brugge won 3–0, and OH Louvain 5–0 in the same round in 2022–23. No cup final has been played here, and no senior international.

The tenancy, at least, is settled. The playing surface remains natural grass.
