The site was bought by the municipality and a sports field was laid down there in 1920. It has been home to A.C. Crema 1908 and U.S. Pergolettese 1932, which play together as Pergocrema.
He was a local sports figure who died in 1971, and the stadium was renamed for him the following year. Before that it was the Stadio Comunale di Crema.
The capacity stands at 4,095, though it was lower for a period after safety works in 1987. It has been raised again since then, with small renovations in 1995, 2000, 2005, 2008 and 2019.
