Stadionul Municipal Botoșani

Botoșani, Romania

While the terraces stood it took something near twelve thousand; the work carried out in 2008 and 2009, and then the larger rebuild of 2013, took the standing areas out and left seats in their place, and the count settled at 7,782. FC Botoșani had gone up to Liga I and qualified for the UEFA Europa League, and the floodlights followed in 2014, put in because the league wanted matches played at night.

The biggest crowd came before any of that. On 12 October 2010, 6,400 watched Romania U21 against England U21 in Euro U-21 qualifying, a year after 5,600 had come for the Faroe Islands U21. The largest crowd for women's football, 3,867, came for a friendly against Belgium on 31 August 2018.

Through all of it the name has not moved. The municipality built the ground and has never sold the naming of it; it is run today by the city's service for sports facilities and amusement zones, and it has stayed Stadionul Municipal throughout. The pitch is natural grass, on Calea Națională, and the calendar is not football alone — Holograf played a symphonic set here on New Year's Eve 2020. A Romanian Cup final has never been staged on it.
