Stadiumi Zeqir Ymeri
Kukës, Albania
Formerly: Përparimi Stadium, Stadiumi Zeqir Ymeri
Kukës is a small city pressed against the Kosovo border, in the north-east of Albania. It opened in 2012 on the footprint of the old Përparimi Stadium, taking the name Stadiumi Zeqir Ymeri after a longtime figure of FK Kukësi. That name held until a 2022 rebuild, when the ground reopened as Kukës Arena.
FK Kukësi has taken this pitch into UEFA Europa League qualifying three times — against Debrecen and Austria Wien in 2016/17, Legia Warsaw in 2017/18, and Torpedo Kutaisi in 2018/19.
The recorded attendance peak came on 25 April 2016, when 7,000 people packed in for a match against Partizani Tirana — a figure that, on paper, exceeded the ground's own capacity. The stadium also carries a darker date: on 30 November 2013, a 17-year-old player, Ilirjan Taçi, died on the pitch during a youth match.
The surface remains natural grass, and the ground sits a short walk from the centre of Kukës on Rruga Stadiumi, the street that takes its name from it.
