Strelitzhalle
Neustrelitz, Germany
The Strelitzhalle is a functional room in Neustrelitz. Built in 1999, the hall serves the local volleyball side PSV Neustrelitz. The capacity is a matter of interpretation: Europlan counts 300 seats, while Volleybox insists on 699.
In August 2022, heavy rain breached the roof. The renovation, funded partly by the state, included a new synthetic sports floor and updated lighting. When the doors finally reopened in January 2025 for a match against ETV Hamburg, the crowd exceeded 700, setting a new benchmark for local league attendance. The hall is owned by the city.
By April 2025, another burst pipe flooded the changing rooms and fitness area, leading to a six-week closure for drying and repairs. Despite these setbacks, the venue continues to host local tournaments, such as the 'Mädchencup', and cultural performances by the regional theatre.
