Stadium
SWH.arena
Halle (Saale), Germany
Formerly: Erdgas Sportarena
The SWH.arena in Halle-Neustadt does not announce itself with a grand entrance; it presents a utilitarian structure. Inside, the space is defined by its function rather than ornament.
The ground is not a destination for tourists, but a working venue for the community, hosting teams from the German leagues and local youth sides. It is a place where the focus is on the game, not the architecture.
The arena was constructed quickly, opening in July 2014, and has served as a hub for local sport since then. Originally known as the Erdgas Sportarena, it was renamed following the acquisition of naming rights by the city utilities.
