The facility is named after Thomas Keith Shutter, who served as mayor of the former City of Enfield during two separate stints. He was not around when the reserve was first established, but the name has stuck. The club, North Eastern MetroStars SC, has played there since its formation in 1994.
The club records a record attendance of 2,073 for a match against Macarthur FC in 2025, a figure that aligns more closely with the Austadiums estimate of 2,000 than the higher international listings.
