Between two hills, the Tuanku Syed Putra Stadium sits inside the Perlis State Sports Complex .

The ground was raised for the 1997 FIFA World Youth Championship . Those matches drew 13,000 people and set the record still held today. It was open for the 17th Malaysia Games in 2014, when the opening ceremony was held under the same roof. Less than a decade later, on 31 August 2024, it hosted the 67th National Day celebrations for 45,000 people. In 2025, it hosted a military tattoo for the Silver Jubilee of the Raja of Perlis.

The pitch is a rectangle of Bermuda grass. It has been replaced recently, in 2024 and 2025, with a finer blade and better drainage.

It is the home of Perlis United F.C. and Imigresen FC , which moved its ground here for the 2025–2026 season. It also hosts Singa Muda Perlis F.C. and Kuala Perlis Titans F.C. . The ground is managed by the Kangar Municipal Council . It is not a stadium for the world stage, but for the state. It is the only ground in Kangar. It holds 20,000 people.
