Vittsjö IP carries a quiet history that predates its current role. The club was founded in 1933, but the ground itself was reworked specifically for the Damallsvenskan, the top tier of Swedish women's football, after promotion. Completed in April 2012, the renovation brought floodlights and a natural grass pitch to Västanvägen 22. The stadium belongs to the municipality now. Hässleholms kommun agreed to purchase the facility from the club in December 2024. Before that transaction, ownership sat with Vittsjö GIK, which had faced economic challenges. Matches are often played here, though the club frequently uses Österås IP konstgräs 1 in Hässleholm for its artificial turf surface.

What defines the atmosphere is not the size of the crowd but the specific sounds. A retired music teacher plays a cornet on the stands before every match. It is a small detail, but it sets the tone for games against teams like Djurgården, AIK, and FC Rosengård. The venue also hosts youth and international friendlies, including matches featuring the Swedish U23 national team against opponents such as the USA and India. No major finals have been staged here, and no significant public incidents have disturbed the routine.
