Colin Kaepernick has stopped watching NFL football. He told NBC News he now follows college games instead.
Kaepernick, 38, has not played since the end of the 2016 season. He never took another snap in the NFL.
He and former 49ers teammate Eric Reid later sued the league, accusing owners of colluding to keep them out. The two sides settled in 2019.
Kaepernick led San Francisco to Super Bowl XLVII to close out the 2012 season, a game the 49ers lost to the Baltimore Ravens. Since leaving football he has put his time into Know Your Rights camps, an initiative aimed at Black and Brown communities.
