Dabo Swinney Rips Clemson After LSU Blowout
Clemson's coach admitted his team was outplayed after a 10-51 loss to LSU, with the quarterback job still up for grabs next game.
Dabo Swinney did not sugarcoat Clemson's opening-night loss to LSU. "The best thing about that game is that it's over. We got our ass kicked," Swinney said.
LSU won 51:10, piling up 644 total yards, including 309 rushing. Clemson managed just 85 yards on its first nine possessions and only found the end zone on a 60-yard drive in the final stretch. LSU converted 11 of 16 third downs; Clemson converted just 1 of 13.
Swinney said he has not decided who starts at quarterback next.
"We are a long way from where we need to be. We'll get better. That's clearly not the start anybody wanted, especially with a score like that. But they're a really good team, and we're a lot better than what we showed today," Swinney said.
