Dak Prescott Becomes Cowboys' All-Time Touchdown Pass Leader
Dak Prescott threw his 249th career touchdown pass, one more than Tony Romo, in Dallas's 37:20 win over Washington, finishing with four scores and 279 yards.
Dak Prescott became the Dallas Cowboys' all-time leader in career touchdown passes, throwing a 24-yard score to Sidi Lamb in the fourth quarter of a 37:20 win over the Washington Commanders. It was the 249th of his career, one more than Tony Romo.
Prescott finished with 26 completions from 31 attempts for 279 yards and four touchdown passes. He also ran for 26 yards on four carries. It was his fifth game against Washington with at least four touchdown passes.
He described the record throw himself: "It is very symbolic that it happened this way, even though the pass was not the best. I just threw the ball and thought: 'Sidi, please, let's just get this over with.' When he ran into the end zone, I thought: 'Thank God, it's over. Now I can just play football,'" Prescott said.
Prescott is 33 and in his 11th NFL season. He also holds the Cowboys' records for passing yards, completions, pass attempts, passer rating and completion percentage. His contract runs through the 2028 season.
"I don't take this lightly, but it is only the beginning. I want to double that number. I plan to play for a long time, so everything is only starting," Prescott said.
