Christian Fassnacht

After coming through FC Zürich's youth ranks, he spent years in the lower divisions, and it was at FC Tuggen that he first made people look twice: 11 goals in 18 appearances in the 2014–15 season. A move to FC Winterthur in the Challenge League followed, then FC Thun, where he scored 10 goals in 36 matches before BSC Young Boys paid a reported €1.5 million for him in July 2017.

At Young Boys he became a fixture of the club's dominant Super League years, winning five league titles and two Swiss Cups, and he was named in the league's Team of the Year on multiple occasions. That run persuaded Norwich City to sign him in July 2023. His first season in the Championship was productive — 40 appearances, six goals and two assists as Norwich reached the play-offs — but injuries reduced him to just three appearances the following campaign, and his contract was terminated by mutual consent at the end of December 2024.

He returned to Young Boys on a free transfer the following month, signing until 2027, and has been among the club's top scorers since. Internationally, Fassnacht made his Switzerland debut against Belgium in October 2018 and went on to appear at Euro 2020 — playing in the quarter-final against Spain — and at the 2022 World Cup, before retiring from the national side with 24 caps and five goals.
